The museum is a perfect venue conveniently located in the heart of downtown Crested Butte for your wedding ceremony, rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, small wedding reception or private party. Your guests will enjoy the reminiscent ambiance of our building, experience the exhibits and relax in the beautiful outdoor patio garden adjacent to the museum. No need to decorate, our exhibits and artifacts that live here already have that covered for you!

The scene:: The Crested Butte Museum is located in a historical building built in 1883. With original preserved hardwood floors, the central potbelly stove, and much of the original hardware store pieces intact, the museum is a unique and entertaining setting for any event. Step back in time as your guests explore unique historical artifacts and our intimate and inviting building. We are centrally located in the downtown area of Crested Butte, with a gondola for great photo opportunities as well as a garden adjacent to the museum featuring native plants and a few large artifacts, including an old chairlift.
Design:: Our historic building still features the original hardwood floors and many of the original display cases used when it was a hardware store. Our main event area is where our exhibits are featured, showcasing the history of mountain biking, skiing, mining, ranching, and so much more here in our beautiful valley. Have your guests learn about the town of Crested Butte and the surrounding areas and discover unique historical artifacts, photographs, and stories of the past.
Standout venue features:: We are the only venue in Crested Butte where your guests can explore the history of the town amongst unique artifacts and photographs. Our non-profit museum is a community gathering place, centrally located with a beautiful garden for cocktail hour or outdoor mingling space in the heart of town. Take photos in one of the preserved gondolas from Crested Butte Mountain Resort, or one of the historic chairlifts located in our garden area!
Extra perks:: Exclusive use of our exhibit area, garden, and area behind our potbelly stove. Choice of your own caterer, props, some rectangular tables and space for drinks, food, gifts, and more. Round seated tables, cocktail tables, and chairs are all available for rent for an additional fee.
