Venue Setting

With its more than one thousand years of history, the castle offers a truly unique setting and having it as wedding venue will be unforgettable.

Housing accommodation: Weddings at Montalto are usually hosted for guests who stay in the castle taking the entire structure. We have space to accommodate up to 44 adults (plus various children) in 10 houses and apartments having a total of 22 double bedrooms. If the party is more numerous and accommodations are needed for other guests, we can help find them in the area.

We can have parties that take the structure for less than one week, but at least 2 nights depend on the months you are interested in , and 3 nights in high season

Brunches, dinners and barbecues can also be organized around the central wedding day, as well as tastings, tours and other excursions.

The Ceremony. For Catholic or Protestant weddings, we have a consecrated chapel for the ceremony. The chapel, which can seat 40-60 people and accommodate others standing in the rear, is included in the wedding venue.

Civil weddings can be held in Siena’s beautiful Palazzo Pubblico or in the simple town hall at Castelnuovo Berardenga, or in the wonderful Grancia of Serre di Rapolano .

A special garden area at the castle can be used for symbolic or other ceremonies.

The Reception: Usually an aperitif is served buffet-style outdoors and a banquet is held in a large hall where we can accommodate up to 100 seated guests. In summer the banquet can take place in the open courtyard of the Castle where there is space for 150 or more.

To give you the prices to have the exlusive of the castle I need to know in what period you are interested - in the price is inlcuded the rent of all the apartments, the outside spaces, the Church - if the wedding is religious - the round garden for cerimonies.

For smaller weddings where guests don't want the exlusive use, we can quote on request.

In addition to a range of lodgings and accommodations for event guests, we offer banquet facilities, a charming old chapel, and varying degrees of planning assistance to suit your needs – all in a unique, historic setting.

Standout venue features:

The houses and apartments at Montalto are independent and self-catering, but we are aware that group events have special requirements.

  • We can arrange full or half pension for the group as well as festive dinners for important occasions.
    Laundry and daily room service can be arranged if needed.
    Common rooms can be reserved for the group's exclusive use.
    We can book expert guides and drivers with cars, minivans or full-size buses to collect people from the station or airport, or take your group sight-seeing or wine tasting.
    We can obtain special discounts to local events for the participants in a workshop, and at its close we can organize a concert or a show of their work that is open to the public.
    We can organize catering for a reception, and also take care of all the trimmings you may wish to add, from flowers to music, favors, printed programs, and more.
    For weddings, we can help locate a priest or other celebrant in the faith and the language of choice, and arrange the rehearsal dinner in a restaurant, on a farm or in another castle. We can have personalized ceramics hand-decorated for the occasion, and engage a hairdresser or even a masseuse to come to the castle the morning of the event.
