- The Scene:
- The courtyard, Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Room, Cinema, Pool, Spa, and office were all designed as rooms for gathering. The design approach of the rooms is a juxtaposition between remnants of the original 1919 schoolhouse, ancient Mayan gardens, and contemporary interventions, such as a staircase resembling a moving equinox.
Casa Escuela’s stunning courtyard is the perfect place to gather to savor the mesmerizing sunrise or sunset. The open layout brings nature inside, where the vegetation, the wind, the light, and the architecture work in perfect harmony.

The open layout brings nature inside, where the vegetation, the wind, the light, and the architecture work in perfect harmony echoing a Mayan jungle in the middle of downtown
The fully equipped kitchen with views to the pool and courtyard is an epicenter for culinary experiences.
Our dining room is the heart of the house, where the contemporary and the historic come together to create a unique space. The table exclusively designed for Casa Escuela by Monica Calderon and hand weaved leather chairs by Ezequiel Farca blend with the original pasta tile floors and old walls.
The Spa - an underground treasure lies underneath the courtyard, a natural water well with a perfect stream of light resembling Yucatan’s Cenotes.
The old walls in our multimedia room create the perfect atmosphere.
Fully equipped office overlooking the beautiful private garden, overlooking the beautiful private garden, and its Alamo Mayan sacred trees with deep roots representing the communication between the world of the living and the Underworld

- Design:
- With the unmatched tasteful renovation by renowned architect Ezequiel Farca and the delicacy of designer Monica Calderon, every space preserves the history of its original materials; from the pasta tile floors to the old wooden doors. Traditional Yucatan celosias dress the walls and adocreto bricks bring the elements of nature inside, inviting a veil of lights into every corner.
