Residing on 30 acres of lush rainforest on Sentosa Island, Capella Singapore is blessed with awe-inspiring views of the South China Sea. Set a new standard for luxury hotels in Singapore, the Capella experience begins with a private driveway meandering up to Capella where you will be received by our hotel staff in two historic bungalows named Tanah Merah, or “red earth” in Malay. Built in the1800s, these British colonial buildings have been masterfully restored. Our architects, Foster + Partners, have ingeniously woven the best of old and new Singapore into an astonishing, breathtaking fusion with a modern hotel extension and private villas which surround the hotel.

Design:
Pritzker Architect Prize Laureate Lord Norman Foster, co-founder of the famed architecture firm Foster + Partners, led the masterful restoration of Tanah Merah, two colonial buildings from the 1880s, which form the centrepiece for Capella Singapore. Pairing the old with the new, Foster + Partners has also designed the resort’s 112 guestrooms around Tanah Merah – what will be the largest resort accommodations in Singapore – blending traditional Asian design with contemporary Western influences. It is this same thoughtful design philosophy that has inspired the seamless integration of architectural elements with Sentosa Island’s natural topography, allowing new structures to follow the contours of the terrain to ensure a balance with nature. Lord Foster commented, “Capella Singapore is seamlessly integrated with the beauty of its natural setting and the three Architecture: remarkable historic buildings on the site.

THE KNOLLS Inspired by its seafront setting, enjoy a refreshing Mediterranean dining experience in an intimate and inviting atmosphere at The Knolls at Capella Singapore. Enjoy a wide variety of quality choices for breakfast, choose from our authentic Mediterranean lunch and dinner menus or have a leisurely afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking the reflecting pools and the South China Sea. The Knolls restaurant is open from 7am to 11pm daily. CASSIA Cassia, Capella Singapore’s Cantonese fine dining restaurant draws inspiration from the age-old spice routes in Southern and Western China as well as the seas around Singapore. Classic dishes, including Peking Duck and Double-boiled Soups are prepared with full respect towards tradition, where the freshest local ingredients are used to create an epicurean feast for the senses.
