Venue Setting

Beaulieu Garden is a private, family-owned estate and is one of the oldest wine producing vineyards in the Napa Valley. In 1899 French winemaker Georges de Latour purchased a parcel of farm land and planted the first 600 acres of European grape stock in the Napa Valley. He came to the Valley with the intention of growing French grapes in California and decided to surprise his wife, Fernande, with this stunning piece of property. When she saw the land she exclaimed “Quel beau lieu” which translates what a beautiful place. And thus became the name of this extraordinary private estate in Rutherford.

Georges de Latour was intent on producing a quality wine in the French tradition, and he imported hundreds of thousands of grafted vines to California to establish Beaulieu Vineyard. The family sold Beaulieu Vineyard in the late 1960s and today grapes grown on the property are used exclusively to make the Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Beaulieu Garden remains in the family of Georges and Fernande de Latour and their great and great-great grandchildren continue to spend time at their home on the estate.

The quarter mile drive leading into the estate is lined with magnificent sycamore trees with their leafy branches touching overhead to provide an elegant canopy entrance. You may choose to hold your ceremony or an intimate dinner in the sunken garden with a stone pool of lilies and a cherub fountain with water spilling from it. Or dinner can be served under an immense sycamore arbor with dappled light during the day and dramatic lighting as night falls. Imagine dancing under the stars next to a sparkling pool with manicured lawns and grape vines stretching to the rolling hills in the distance.
Design:
The possibilities for your event are limited only by your imagination. Beaulieu Garden is a stunning event site with formal gardens that reflect the European influence of the de Latour family. Old stone fountains, reflecting pools and elegant statues are tucked throughout the park-like gardens. Just beyond the original stone winery is a beautiful thick sycamore arbor which is the perfect setting for al fresco dinners.
