The view from this villa, out over the hazy Cretian mountains, is something to be envied. Lie up on a lounger, in the shade of a parasol and take in that view, cocktail in hand. When the heat of the day gets too much, the huge swimming pool is the perfect tonic. Long lunches can be taken outside, on the shaded patio, courtesy of the stone barbecue area. But the real star of the outside space is the long, fully equipped bar on the terrace – ideal for a batch of cocktails as the sun tinges the mountain backdrop golden and pink. The open living area inside is kept cool with a tiled floor and light walls. Glass doors open up from the plush living room to the outdoor terrace. There are two living rooms in the villa, so the group can spread out. One is in rich coffee and cream colours and the other is a sleek slate-grey affair. The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked and bedrooms are soothing havens with quirky woodwork figures on display. In terms of location, you’re just a ten-minute walk from the sea, and the picturesque fishing village of Sisi, set around a harbour with turquoise water. Here you’ll find fabulous tavernas on the water’s edge, serving up fresh octopus and plenty of rustic charm.
