Venue Setting

Host your event in a Beaux-Arts building of historic beauty and modern elegance. Five flexible event spaces can be used separately or combined to accommodate a variety of events from dinner for 10 to cocktails for 1,400. The Asian Art Museum has stunning spaces for your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing with 10 to 250 guests.

Built in 1916 as the city's main public library, the Beaux-Arts building was renovated in 2003 by architect Gae Auelnti, the visionary behind Paris's Musee de Orsay. From the grandeur of Samsung Hall to the modern elegance of the Courts, the events team will help you find the perfect event spaces to suit your style and guest count. Couples who marry at the Asian Art Museum contribute to a cultural legacy. Event fees support the museum's ongoing efforts to preserve and display more than 18,000 works of art, prorivde educational programming and maintain our landmark building.

Guests can enjoy three floors of galleries displaying over 2,500 works of contemporary and ancient Asian art, spanning 6,000 years of history. The museum is located in the heart of San Francisco's Civic Center, just a few blocks from Moscone Center, Union Square hotels, parking, and public transportation systems (BART & MUNI).

North Court & South Court
Modern and sleek with clean lines and a three story tall glass ceiling. These bright indoor spaces lend an outdoor feel without exposure to the elements.
Samsung Hall
In 1917 our beautiful building opened as the Main Public Library of San Francisco. Samsung Hall once served as the Card Catalog Room and now nearly 100 years later is the perfect space for large dinners or standing receptions.
The Loggia
Head up our Grand Staircase and onto the Loggia, a U-shaped balcony perfect for standing receptions or ceremonies.
