Acre is a 25 acre piece of farmland adjacent to San Jose del Cabo. We welcome you to our restaurant, cocktail bar, event space, treehouse accommodation in our palm forest and surrounding farms. Eventually the full 25 acres will be developed as a space for people to relax, learn, rejuvenate and celebrate.

The scene:

We are proud to welcome you to our chic desert oasis; with expertly manicured landscaping, hand painted tiled orchard event space, sublime infinity pool...we have something for everyone! We've been able to develop an extremely creative food and cocktail program, similar to what you might find in a large city. We're certain Los Cabos is ready for this type of experience.

Design:
All efforts have been made to keep Acre true to its place. The very walls are made from compressing the surrounding earth. The shade structures above you are made with sticks from local palo de arco trees. All of the furniture, dishware, lighting and accessories come from the Baja or the Mexican mainland. It's our belief that people appreciate authenticity in their surroundings.
Extra perks:
Included with the Orchard event space is our infinity pool, surrounding hand painted tile deck and grass ceremony space! We have recently added a petting zoo with Nigerian dwarf goats and a games area with bocci, croquet and custom made concrete ping pong table!

This section provides insights into our diverse culinary and social offerings.
Acre Restaurant

Authenticity also drives our food and cocktail program. Executive Chef Kevin Luzande and Co-Executive Chef Oscar Torres are obsessed with using only those ingredients that are closest at hand. Between our own farm and neighbouring suppliers, our ingredients don't travel very far to your plate or glass.

Our search for a chef hit a stumbling block early on. It seems that most talented chefs want to stay in their big cities where they can perform amongst their peers. The idea of moving to a tourist destination was a very tough sell. What made the difference for Kevin and Oscar was the fact that they'd get to set up and run their very own farm!

Quality, local ingredients are their obsession and their availability (or lack of availability) is what shapes our menu. Kevin and Oscar have both worked in the top restaurants of New York, Los Angeles and Europe. This mix of their urban experience paired with local Baja ingredients is a winning combination.

Acre Cocktail Bar

Our lead mixologist, Dani Tatarin, in charge of our amazingly bespoke cocktail program. Dani hails from the award winning Keefer Bar in Vancouver, B.C. Canada, which she set up and still operates. Dani has spent the last two years travelling throughout Mexico, researching and sourcing exotic and obscure Mexican spirits. Dani will be reinventing many of these forgotten spirits into inventive and delicious cocktails.

Set above our cocktail bar, this terrace is the perfect exclusive space to host an intimate event and even boasts it's own private bar

The Orchard
The Polished concrete and hand painted tiles set amongst our mango trees, with string lighting above set an amazing scene for any event!

The heart of our resort has an open kitchen with copper accents, wood burning oven and grilled and is shaded with branches from local palo de arco trees!

These Photos Are Proof That Dried Florals Are the Next Big Wedding Trend
Sparkly, bright and.... dead, or rather dried. Dried florals were the star of the the show for this styled wedding and transformed the day into a tropical-meets-desert event, complete with a mariachi band dressed in all white. Using Acre Baja's stunning tiled mango orchard as the main setting for this bohemian bash, the overall tone was lightened-up and airy. Bright whites, natural materials and neutral colors added to the dramatic, monotone look. The dried floral installations added an element of texture and interest, proving that this is the next big wedding trend. We caught up with photographer, Nicola Dixon and designer, Laura of Fawn Events about the entire day including their top tips for making the most of events (and getaways) and Acre Hotel in Mexico.

This Rescue Donkey Named Burrito Had the Most Special 1st Birthday Party
It's not every day that your baby turns one, so why not celebrate their first full year of life with a bang? That's exactly what the team at boutique hotel, Acre Baja did for their resident donkey and beloved fur baby, Burrito. The sweet donkey found his way to Acre Baja by way of an emergency rescue when he was orphaned at just one month old – the team immediately took him in and knew he had found his forever home. Acre Baja is also home to a local dog rescue and shelter, Acre Dogs that you can adopt from onsite during your stay or event. Baby Burrito grew up with the rescued dogs and puppies, thinking he was part of the pack for awhile.  Burrito's birthday party was everything a first birthday should be: full of his favorite foods (carrots and apples), his family and a special, Donkey approved cake.
