The scene:: Ackerman Heritage House can be considered the most unique offering in the Napa Valley. Located right in the heart of the City of Napa, Lauren Ackerman meticulously restored, over a five-year period, the Queen Anne Victorian home originally built in 1889. Each art piece and antique have a unique story, from the silver flatware and the antique china place settings to the 1880s era furnishings that chronicle world discoveries and historic times. A fully equipped, modern kitchen makes the venue accessible for immersive food, wine and private event experiences, including monthly Sunday afternoon teas by former French Laundry pastry chef Jennifer Smith. The restored carriage house adjacent to the home “The Aviary”, is where guests can amble in to taste Ackerman Family Estate wines, the first certified organic vineyard in Coombsville.
Design:: The Ackerman Heritage House captures the romance and majesty of Victorian times. Lauren Ackerman restored the home to its original splendor, receiving a coveted California Preservation Award in 2019. The property boasts period-correct antiques and a noteworthy collection of bone china, candelabras and serving pieces that exude the luxury and grand settings of the period, along with a stunning Lacanche oven as the centerpiece in the main kitchen.
Standout venue features:: The Ackerman Heritage House has a list of outstanding Napa Valley Chefs on its roster, including former French Laundry chefs Jennifer Smith and Walter Abrams, whose menus highlight the organic fruits and vegetables from the garden and from the larger Ackerman estate and vineyards in Coombsville. Located a short 10-minute drive away, prospective guests have the bonus option of booking this sister property to access the Ackerman Estate’s library of wines in a true vineyard setting.
