Venue Setting

This neighbourhood is our favourite part of London. The vibe is open, innovative, productive and adventurous. Walkable, bike-able and let’s-get-lost-able, Shoreditch is the open-air version of what we aim for each Ace Hotel to be: a place you never want to leave. The vintage shopping on Brick Lane is unparalleled, and Shoreditch is known worldwide as a mecca for street artists like Banksy, Eine, Kid Acne and Conor Harrington to name a few. Along Redchurch Street you can buy the best stuffed jalapeño of your life. You can find handmade leather goods on Calvert, and David Adjaye’s Dirty House is a few blocks away on Chance Street. Vietnamese on Kingsland Road is the best, there’s no better place to get bubble and squeak than Rivington Street and locally-brewed craft beer flows like water in our neighbourhood pubs. By the time you think you’ve seen it all there will be something new, and you can start getting to know Shoreditch all over again, like meeting up with an old friend. Originally a suburb outside of the City of London, Shoreditch was the place where culture, arts and outsiders banned by the city's fathers could find a home and thrive. Archaeologists recently discovered here the foundations of The Theatre where Shakespeare’s first plays were performed, too. The brick-making trade in the area dates back to medieval times. Textile and furniture manufacture also thrived here, centering around the Old Spitalfield’s Market and the timber yards at the west bank of the River Lea. Today’s Shoreditch contains echoes of its industrial and artisanal past in the form of cottage industries and studios where craftspersons specialize in niche and handmade goods – for as long as anyone can remember, it’s been a place for making things.

Venue Features
The Scene:
Ace Hotel London Shoreditch hangs its hat in London’s most creative and engaged district. A hub for galleries, theaters and fashion, Shoreditch is home to the Brick Lane Market and an open canvas for street artists from around the world. We’ve brought a landmark restaurant, our very favorite florist, dispensers of the finest fresh pressed juices and coffee, and DJs and artists from all over the world under one roof — and the mix is pure magic.
Design:
We've incorporated a wide range of design influences — reflective of the cosmopolitan yet historic character of the surroundings — from the clean Modernism of the Bauhaus to UK punk, to the bold graphic style of the early 20th century Vorticist movement. The context and history of the area as a traditional center of industry and old-world craft was also a driving force behind our approach to exterior and interior design. It's one of our most rewarding projects to date, re-establishing 100 Shoreditch High's place as a vital, engaged participant in a neighborhood rife with complex heritage, good ideas and inimitable culture. And our basement bar Miranda is said to possess an empyreal glow.
Standout Venue Features:
We’ve got a sound selection of food and drinks on site to sate your appetites, including our lobby café Bulldog Edition (@bulldogedition), the celestial Miranda bar downstairs, our farm-to-street juice kitchen Lovage and our celebrated English modernist brasserie Hoi Polloi. Hoi Polloi has breakfast from 07:00 and supper until 01:00 plus 24-hour room service if you'd rather stay in. We have events nearly every night of the week, including NTS Radio DJs, talks, independent film screenings, parties and live bands. Find out what’s going on while you’re here by visiting acehotel.com/calendar/london or by calling the front desk.
Extra Perks:
Ace Hotel London’s enormous seventh floor event space — over 6,000 sq. ft. total — offers panoramic views of London, five versatile meeting rooms in adaptable sizes, plus a full rooftop bar and terrace. Each room features state-of-the-art teleconferencing systems, WiFi and multi-zone audio and portable projection screens, digital projectors with Mac and PC inputs or flatscreen TVs. We offer full-service catering from our on-site Michelin-starred restaurant Hoi Polloi. All guests of our 7th floor event spaces have access to our bird's-eye bar and terrace that takes over the whole of our 1243 square foot rooftop. It's decked out with furnishings by Michael Marriott, a first-of-its-kind lighting installation by Fabien Cappello and panoramic views of Shoreditch, the Gherkin and the City of London. It makes an impression.

Eats & Drinks
Food, Restaurants, Cafes, Bars & Lounges
Food, Restaurants, Cafes:
Hoi Polloi Pablo Flack and David Waddington of Bistrotheque have partnered with Ace to create Hoi Polloi, an English modernist brasserie. It is a dynamic space, as ideal for three square meals as it is for daytimes spent working on a laptop, evening drinks or spot of late night supper. Hoi Polloi takes a super-seasonal approach to English produce, with an understated use of ingredients that may only be in season for a short time. When Bistrotheque opened in 2004, Flack and Waddington “reinvented eating out to suit the style and energy of a new generation”, according to Kate Spicer, Sunday Times Style. Two years later they further established their names in the international dining scene with the launch of their first temporary restaurant, The Reindeer. This was followed by two award-winning short-term restaurant installations — FLASH at the Royal Academy, and Studio East Dining at Westfield Stratford City. In 2012, Pablo and David opened Shrimpy’s Deluxe Dinette & Terrace in a disused Filling Station; a critically acclaimed two- year project as part of the Kings Cross regeneration. BULLDOG EDITION Square Mile Coffee Roasters will be collaborating with Ace to open a lobby café. Square Mile Coffee Roasters will also supply the beans that will be served in the café. Square Mile Coffee Roasters started as a wholesaler of specialty coffee beans to cafés that serve serious coffee lovers. Founded by James Hoffmann, a World Barista Champion, and Anette Moldvaer, a World Cup Tasters Champion, the Square Mile team brings a near-obsessive, passionate attention to detail to their search for the very best beans. LOVAGE Lovage is a seasonal farm-to-street elixir and treat stand rooted in the essentials of British folk medicine and based on the idea that wellness comes from nature. The award-winning Kitty Travers has collaborated with Ace Hotel to create ice creams, sorbets and granitas for Hoi Polloi and Lovage.
Bars & Lounges:
Miranda Miranda is our celestial basement bar, with up-and-coming and established local and international DJs and live music nightly. Lobby We've got a different DJ nearly every night of the week in the lobby. Our friends, some hailing from independent record labels, some just independent, spin good music til late. The Lobby Bar The lobby bar offers an inclusive and low-key spot to enjoy a drink with friends, or settle in for a long afternoon working on a laptop. The furniture was designed by local artist Max Lamb, and there's plenty of space around to gather with a group, check out an exhibit in the gallery space, or put on your headphones and get to work. Menu and cocktails designed by Hoi Polloi.
