Grand estates and manors are tucked into cities and countryside locations all over the country, and we’ve gone ahead and selected some of our favorites. These are places that know how to utilize both indoors and out to create a wedding space that’s elegant, timeless and memorable. You can get married in peony gardens or fruit orchards, or be surrounded by Grecian statues when you exchange your vows.

The Atlanta History Center is located in Peachtree Heights West, just 20 minutes from downtown ATL. There are two massive venues, including a museum and a grand mansion. The grounds here are simply gorgeous with endless gardens, lawns and places to host a wedding.
Tucked away in the countryside outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Zingerman’s Cornman Farms is a working farm estate with a Greek Revival farmhouse, a two-story barn with veggie gardens and an open-air tent with wood flooring and optional sidewalls. The farmstead can accommodate intimate weddings and events or host as many as 300 guests.
Surrounded by over a hundred acres of gardens, grassy fields and park land, this secluded Palladian mansion on the edge of the Chesapeake Bay shoreline dates all the way back to 1764. As a wedding venue, the grounds of Whitehall can be used as a backdrop with a gorgeous tent on the lawns.
This hundred-year-old grand estate in Bellingham is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a pavillion and courtyard that make excellent ceremony options. For receptions, you’ll be able to choose from dining in the formal ballroom with its vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and original wood paneling, or step outside for a tented occasion.
Once a privately owned 175-room home, this stately mansion and its grounds are open to the public as a museum filled with extensive collections of antiques and art. Winterthur is set in the heart of Delaware’s Brandywine Valley and offers event spaces that include a creekside lawn, peony gardens, a reflecting pool terrace, a garden-facing glass-walled atrium and a glass-enclosed pavilion.
New as a venue but very old as a property, Great Marsh Estate started hosting events just last year. The Georgian Mansion, restored period features and illustrious heritage and charm ensure that weddings here are picture perfect. Just one hour from Washington DC, celebrate with the exclusivity of 121 acres of lawn and woodland.
This warm, inviting mansion has a rich history that includes being used as a hospital for wounded soldiers during the Civil War and later aiding in the liberation of slaves as part of the Underground Railroad. Today, GranDale Manor is mostly used as a venue for weddings and private events in the Nashville area, with space to host up to 300 guests.
A resplendent mansion built back in the roaring ‘20s, Greystone is an amazing Beverly Hills venue for a Gatsby-inspired wedding. Options for event settings here include a formal garden surrounded by box hedges and white roses, a slate-floored courtyard with a fountain, a terrace overlooking Los Angeles and a cypress-lined walkway flanked by eight gargoyle fountains. Yep, it’s that epic.
Rural Virginia sets the scene for this meandering estate and gardens, complete with a handful of cottages for overnight guests. Weddings here have use of a greenhouse, a barn, vineyards and a gorgeous boxwood garden.

A Federal style sandstone mansion that dates back to 1905, this wedding venue offers gardens, patios, lawns and a lodge-like interior that’s great for private events. The emerald green walls, dark wood paneling and detailed ceilings are just a few of the highlights of the mansion’s interiors.
Located in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Appalachian Valley, Linwood Estate is complete with multiple lawns, a garden filled with Grecian sculptures, and of course, a beautiful mansion that dates back to 1870. Inside the grand house is a formal ballroom with hardwood floors, high ceilings and arched windows, fit for a wedding of up to 250 guests.
Located just outside Salem in northern Massachusetts, this farm estate is surrounded by forests and a lake. The estate house can be used for smaller weddings of 80-100 guests, while an open-air tent in the gardens is a gorgeous setting for events of up to 350 guests in the warmer months.
Over 150 years of history can be felt on the grounds of Tennessee’s Homestead Manor. Here, you’ll find an old one-room schoolhouse, a barn with huge ceilings and stone fireplaces, and an Antebellum manor with a glass-walled bar.
Set in Maryland’s Harford County, Foxfire is a sprawling estate that you and your guests can take over for an entire long weekend. There are accommodations in the stately manor house and cottage for up to 21 guests, and the expansive lawns and grounds are practically begging for an outdoor or tented fête.
The mansion’s formal ballrooms, marble fireplaces, coffered ceilings and huge arched windows make this palatial 19th-century country estate a shining example of the Gilded Age. There are three homes on the property with a total of 12 bedrooms guests can stay in for your wedding weekend. As far as wedding setup goes, you’ll definitely want to be outdoors at this spot, and you can set a tent on the tennis court or gather on the patio for the best of sunset views.
You and all 175 of your wedding guests can call Newport Beach home for a day at this coastal estate in Balboa Island. Guests will make their way through a front courtyard into the mansion’s main hall with cathedral ceilings then to a piano parlour, a distinguished library and outside to the rooftop, pool garden or patio for lounging and enjoying this exclusive setting.
