Malibu is known for many things, but its beautiful beaches and relaxed, coastal aesthetic are at the top of the list. So it should come as no surprise that when The Surfrider Malibu opened last year with its bright spaces and modern-meets-throwback aesthetic, people went nuts for it. The suites are gorgeous and the offerings are luxurious, but the place itself still has that old school California roadside motel vibe.

This cushy, cozy white linen couch with tons of overstuffed pillows finishes the whole Surfrider look. Since these are made to order, you might you even opt to go with a pair if your space can hold them both.
The high-contrast black line drawings on the walls at Surfrider add a ton of character to the bright, white walls. To achieve a similar look, a collection of oversized black and white drawings should do the trick. Try this original drawing by Erik Sulander.
The minimalist design of this coffee table makes it perfectly reminiscent of that gorgeous Surfrider lounge scene. Plus, the white marble top is a classic and super easy to maintain.
We’d love to see this ceramic conversation starter filled with white peonies and placed on that marble coffee table. It’s a great vase or you can leave it empty and use it like a tabletop sculpture.
Another original charcoal and ink drawing by Erik Sulander, this piece would pop beautifully in a light birch gallery frame and works well alongside any other black-and-white illustration.
