From treehouses in the ancient Costa Rican rainforests to treetop getaways surrounded by South African wildlife, we’re taking the climb up to 28 of the world’s most amazing treehouses.

Located just north of Portland in Skamania County, Washington, The Cinder Cone is a collection of fully functional treehouses with a network of bridges and ladders connecting all of them. Just below the treehouses lays a skate park and a wood-fired soaking tub. Check out the designer and creator Foster Huntington for more images of his remote home.
An ultra-luxe resort that’s nestled into Kruger National Park, the glass-walled suites at the Singita Lebombo Lodge are built right into the trees and cliff face of the riverbanks below. With sweeping views of South Africa’s gorgeous landscape and an infinity pool to boot, you can’t go wrong hanging around this perch.
Located in a residential neighborhood of Atlanta, this treehouse is complete with a bedroom, a living room and, in true southern style, a lounging porch. Built into the pine trees, this treehouse is quiet and quaint, a cool escape from the bustle of the ATL.
