Nestle Up in A Bird’s Nest
The Segera Nay Palad bird’s nest is set just along the banks of a river, where animals can be spotted day and night, just about a 15 minute drive from Segera’s main retreat. From the roof deck, you’ll have panoramic views of Mount Kenya to the east and the Great Rift Valley to the west. You can opt to sleep on the deck or inside the cozy, sheltered suite for two. If you’re traveling with a couple of kiddos on this bucket list worthy bday, there’s enough space to snuggle with them too.

Segera Retreat
Segera sits in the heart of Lakipia and is considered one of the most sustainable luxury tourism retreats in the world. There’s a big emphasis on health and wellness for visitors, and the sustainable approach to conservation and community is at the heart of everything these guys do. Depending on the time of year you visit for your birthday, you might spot newborn babes in the lush green pastures just after rainy season’s end, or watch the animals graze on the golden savannah plains. You might wander through rocky waterfalls or spend your mornings in the tropical botanical gardens. All the while, you’ll be dining on fresh, seasonal fare in a variety of stunning settings. Oh, and there’s an epic spa for full-body treatments and scrubs too.
