A record breaking sized potato has been spotted in Idaho just south of downtown Boise, Idaho. The six ton starchy veggie has been causing a flurry of confusion for local Idahoans unsure of what to do with such a spectacular spud. Is it suited more for classic French fries or a mega-sized cheesy scalloped potato dish? We may never know.

All jokes aside, the giant potato is real... well, it's not a real potato, it's the retired spokespotato of the Idaho Potato Commission’s Big Idaho Potato Tour – and you can stay the night inside of it! After traveling the country for seven years, the legendary potato has been brought to its final resting place in Boise with a new lease on life.
Reimagined by former Big Idaho Potato Tour member Kristie Wolfe, the new spud stay comfortably sleeps two in its chic interior. The bright white canvas is accented by natural wood, blush tones and greenery for a tranquil tater trip. There's no roughing it here, the Idaho Potato Hotel is fully equipped to ensure that your experience in the potato is sweet including:
- a mini fridge
- record player
- cute decor
- a cozy bed
Bonus: a cute jersey cow will be your fuzzy pet for the stay.
Now that you've decided to cozy up in this giant Idaho potato airbnb, what fun things are you going to do in Boise? Call us cliché, but we suggest diving into some delicous potato dishes right away. Head to downtown Boise for a little stroll around the town and then stop by Diablo Saloon where you can order their famous Patatas Diablo dish. This Spanish tapas type dish will be served with the perfect dash of salt, lime and cilantro. Ready for dessert? Make a dash to the Westside Drive In where the ice cream is shaped to look like an actual baked potato!
The Idaho Potato Commission sums it up best with, "If you love the fluffy feeling you get when you eat Idaho potatoes, you’ll love staying in a giant potato turned cozy, grown-up getaway for two!"
