Ever wonder what happens when creatives collaborate with some of their favorite people on the planet? Well, if they’re lucky, they end up with photos that make the experience look just as epic as it sounds. Overlooking the bustling city of Florence, Villa Cora has that dreamy Tuscan romance vibe down to a T. Once we discovered this incredible venue, we had a collective, “andiamo!” moment, and gathered a team of some of our favorite creatives to collaborate with us. Together we created a series of photos that celebrate this gorgeous Italian setting.
Meanwhile, the vibrant interiors provided a stark contrast of bright colors and pure opulence. With a property that features so many eye-catching design elements, it can be a bit of a trick to capture photos that aren’t too busy, so our team decided to embrace a minimalist design strategy that shows off the architecture, grounds, and combination of beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces captured by KT Merry Photography. We brought in a few pops of flora for color and drama, and relied on the property to tell its own story as the setting of a fine romance.

Tell us about the venue!
The 19th century Villa Cora overlooking the Boboli Gardens in Florence is a breathtaking location for a wedding or honeymoon. Stepping outside of the bustling streets of Florence’s city center you are greeted by the old world grandeur and 5 star service of Villa Cora. The opulent dining room and picturesque gardens and pool are ideal for an elegant and refined celebration. We shoot throughout the property taking advantage of the Villa’s gardens, beautiful driveway and architecture.
This stately mansion with its impeccable gardens and storied architecture provided an excellent backdrop for our photoshoot. Just imagine the photos you’d get of all your friends and family roaming around a property this gorgeous! Nighttime around here is equally magical, with the lights of Firenze shining bright from below. We can practically hear the buzz of a late night wedding celebration. Bellisima, no?

Set about a fifteen-minute drive into the hills outside this cultural haven, Villa Cora overlooks the impressive Boboli Gardens that were built by Firenze’s famed Medici family in the 16th century.

As anyone with a creative eye will tell you, a beautiful outdoor photo shoot depends entirely on the scale of the backdrop, perfect lighting, and the lively colors of the foliage in the scene. In the case of this stately building, the outdoor scenery at Villa Cora gave our team a neutral palette to work within, while still embracing lots of pops of natural greenery. You can practically smell the lavender!
