What happens when you combine a private island, a rose gold champagne gun and a massage overlooking the ocean? Jessica & Bryan’s wedding weekend in Puerto Vallarta. Photographer Brogen Jessup was along for the romantic ride and recounts the action-packed weekend which included a private snorkeling catamaran, a beach front rehearsal dinner and margaritas around the clock.
The festivities and partying were equally matched with breathtaking decor. The bride and groom seem to have thought of every little detail from the rose petals at their beach ceremony to the blue palette of bridesmaid’s dresses. Hop on board and take a look into this lively and gorgeous Mexican wedding weekend of a lifetime. Salud!

Brogen: All the way from DC, Jessica and Bryan planned a weekend of festivities for their guests who joined them from all over the world. Villa Savana (guest house) hosted the majority of the bridal party, family and David and I. It’s 15+ bedrooms are situated outside the city of Puerto Vallarta in what feels like a jungle lined with cobblestone roads. The house has multiple floors with an old school diagonal graffiti covered elevator. The in-house staff was wonderful and the chefs cooked breakfast and dinner daily. To top it off, we enjoyed couples massages overlooking the ocean and a bartender making margaritas 24/7.
Brogen: If we weren’t already in heaven, the bride and groom arranged a private snorkeling adventure upon a catamaran with Vallarta Adventures III which included whale watching in the Bay of Banderas, water sports at Marietas Islands and… we can’t forget the gold Champagne gun accompanied by blaring tropical deep house music. Hold on, it keeps getting better. The rehearsal dinner was at the jaw dropping Le Kliff Restaurant. Need I say more?

The Wedding Day
Brogen: Las Caletas is probably the only place in the world that will take all of your guests to a private beach only accessible by boat. The girls rode over in the morning on a high powered speed boat. We started with breakfast and champagne in the bridal suite and the bride had her very own butler! We spent the morning hanging out on the beach, swimming, and exploring the beautiful area.
Once the sun started to get lower, the guests were all shuttled over on a catamaran. Once they arrived at Las Caletas they made their way through paths lit by tiki torches to the ceremony site where they were greeted with margaritas. The ceremony was on the beach under a chuppa that was decorated with flowers and a macramé hanging. The couple shared their first dance to "I Want You to know” by Alyson Stoner. Fire dancers and drummers made a special appearance as guests enjoyed a bonfire and s'mores.
As the wedding came to a wrap the guests and newlyweds boarded the catamaran to head back to Puerto Vallarta. Just when we thought the party was over the boat started passing out liquor and the music was cranked. The waves were tossing everyone left and right and everyone was spilling cocktails and laughing and dancing to Sam Feldt’s "Show Me Love" remix. The entire day was a dream.
