Singita is the Shangaan word for ‘Place of Miracles.’ In the spirit of miracles, Singita’s mission is to conserve, preserve, and protect the wilderness of Africa- and with over one million acres of land to oversee, this is no small feat!
Read on to learn how this luxury safari brand is leading the way in eco-tourism and how you can be a part of the conservation efforts as you explore Africa’s wilderness.

Biodiversity
The Singita team aims to restore, enhance and protect the biodiversity of the land they foster. From anti-poaching initiatives, to extensive wildlife research, Singita strives to understand and preserve biodiversity in all its forms. Notably, these efforts have been “wildly” successful; Singita has one of the highest concentrations of black rhinos in Africa and has seen a 1,000% increase in the elephant population at Singita Grumeti, despite widespread poaching across other areas in Africa.
Community
Aside from protecting the natural ecosystem, Singita supports the surrounding communities through educating children on conservation efforts and creating alternative economic opportunities through employing 1,200 locals. By empowering communities and ensuring that they have alternate sources of food and income, the team helps to mitigate poaching and reduce the impact on the African wilderness while spreading the positive message of conservation.

Sustainability
From the ground up (literally!), every experience at the reserve is carefully curated to minimize the impact on the planet. From using recycled materials for lodges and guest rooms, to employing renewable energy across the resorts, to sourcing locally harvested and organic food, the team is dedicated to mitigating the ecological footprint of the resorts and it’s guests.
Experience
Singita proves that sustainability is stylish! Each space is designed to bring the outdoors inside and connect guests to the nature. From floor to ceiling windows, to outdoor bathtubs to dining under the canopy of tree branches, the wilderness is everywhere. You can unwind in style while learning about conservation and preservation initiatives. Additionally, guests can engage in guided safari-walks, stargaze, go on game drives and more!
