This 140 Year Old Resort in the Alps Just Got a Makeover

This 140 year old Swiss hotel just got a makeover. And by makeover we mean everything from a destination spa to a wood-heated grotto to 142 rooms with bubble lamps and Swiss modern art. Waldhaus Films Hotel and Spa has aimed to reclaim a property that began in 1869 as a spa and later became a hotel in 1877. The end product is a luxurious destination that is both grand in scale and in hospitality.

Just ninety minutes out of Zurich, this resort in the Alps is commanding attention. Some of its features include a stylish library, a ballroom, a prosecco bar and five in-house restaurants. Indulge in Alpine luxury and breathe in the mountain air at Waldaus Films Hotel and Spa.

Lodging

Waldhaus Films Hotel and Spa has three lodging options for the modern traveler. Take your pick from the Grand Hotel, Villa Silvana and Chalet Belmont. The Grand Hotel is for the classy and the elegant, Villa Silvana is perfect for those looking for an idyllic ambiance and last but not least, Chalet Belmont is for the rustic and tranquil lover. Which do you belong at?

The Spa

The Walhaus Spa is nothing short of spectacular. Playing with stone, glass and air, this architectural 3,000-square-meter spa is as stunning as it is relaxing. Take a dip in their indoor pool located within a glass cube with a panoramic backdrop of the Waldhaus Park. Prefer the outdoors? Their outdoor heated pool will do the trick. After a dip, treat yourself to a sauna or steam bath and follow up with a massage or beauty treatment. With a plethora of treatment rooms and a wraparound heated pool, this Japanese inspired destination is your winding down palace.

Gastronomy

There are five culinary destinations for you to choose from during your stay at Waldhaus Films Hotel and Spa. The Grand provides cuisine from around the world, Epoca specializes in traditional recipes, Pomodoro is the Italian restaurant on property, Il Tschaler focuses solely on cheese and La Tavolata is located at their Belle Epoque museum and wine cellar.

While Waldaus Films Hotel and Spa provides culinary enthusiasts mouth-watering options, they also have two in-house bars, Chadafo Bar and Summit Bar, to help you master the après ski cocktail.
