California’s favorite fruit, the avocado, is being imagined into an interactive experience in Point Loma’s Liberty Station come June. It makes perfect sense that The CADO would come to sunny San Diego too, avocado toast is a breakfast menu staple, tacos best be served with a few slices of the green stuff, and yes, we know that guac is extra. So are we.

The Venue Report had the pleasure of chatting with the brains behind this endeavor, Anne Buehner and Mary Carr to get an inside scoop and first look into this summer’s place to see and be seen. These sisters know that a photo memento is great and all (because, Instagram) but there could also be more to this experience than a social media moment. “This California Avocado season, immerse yourself in the green you love to ‘gram and emerge with more than just a pretty picture.” This dynamic duo wants to educate you on growing the avo, inventive uses for the fruit and even a definitive answer to knowing when your ‘cado is ripe for the eating.
