Tell us about some of the highlights of your experience at the venue?
The greenhouse on this property is one of our favourite ceremony locations ever! Also, the dance at this wedding had some of the best dance moments we've captured. SO MUCH FUN!
Tell us about the venue in general?
Located just outside of Victoria, British Columbia, There are getting ready rooms onsite + parking.
Tell us a little bit about the wedding you photographed.
This wedding. This couple. I don't know where to even start. It was intimate, it was personal, it was a celebration, it was fun. It was also incredibly beautiful.
What made this venue an ideal location for the wedding?
Erica wanted a location that was very organic, whimsical and able to host all of the events of the wedding. We were able to do all photos onsite which is always a plus. Also, it actually rained on the day. Because of the diversity of the venue we were able to move the ceremony from the rose garden into the greenhouse. I actually think in this case the backup option was more beautiful than the original one.
Were there any areas you thought lighting was the best?
There was a great barn/workshop that had some interesting light that was fun to shoot. But seriously though the greenhouse was a dream, glass + white beam.
What other types of events do you think it's ideal for?
Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, Showers, Dinner Parties, Workshop
Favorite existing design elements of the venue?
Again, back to the whimsical greenhouse. Also, some of the older, weathered building were great as well.
Is there anything that stands out about the venue or the surrounding area you feel makes it really special?
It's a very diverse little property. There's tree groves, a rose garden, rustic barn covered in vines, the white wood beam + glass greenhouse, some small open fields, animals, an orchard....it's really got it all.
Did you meet anyone at the venue that you connected with or made a lasting impression?
Rook + Rose florist located in Victoria is amazing!
Any inside tips?
Think outside of the box with the venue as there are so many options. We saw multiple great ceremony and dinner options there.
