Late last year we were invited to set up the wine station for an event hosted by Be Inspired PR called Tassels and Tastemakers. It was their 3rd event in Los Angeles "to bring together the best in the wedding industry from all over the country and media for one amazing night of dancing, drinks and bites and networking!" The event was held at one of our venue members, a raw warehouse space in Culver City, California called Smoky Hollow Studios.
The Event
For this event, the Be Inspired team wanted their Tastemakers to experience what it’s like to be an actual guest for once! The theme was 'Woodland' and the colors were a neutral palette of green and white with wood textures.
Style for your Setting
We were tasked with the fun job of designing the wine lounge. Because the theme was 'woodland' and the space was so raw and industrial, we fuzed the two together to create a girly industrial woodland wine bar!
1. Industrial Floral Garden Party Busts: Found Vintage Rentals had these industrial vintage bust forms in their inventory.. We just had to add floral wigs on top. We had a strong vision and The Velvet Garden truly brought it to life with their incredible floral skills.
2. Faux Fire pit: We couldn't imagine a woodland setting without a campfire. However, we don't know of any indoor venue spaces in the world that will allow any indoor campfires! So with that in mind we set out to create a faux fire-pit! We purchased a ton of wood and drilled halfway down into the side of each piece. We then stacked the pieces and glued them together so they would not slide off of one another. Last, we glued glass tealight holders into the drilled parts of each piece of firewood. The final touch?! Lighting the tea lights.. And that's how you get a gorgeous faux fire-pit!
3. Floral Chandelier: We loved the round shape of our coffee table (aka faux fire-pit) and wanted to accent it with a chandelier.. Hmmm, how to easily create a round and dramatic chandelier that is not too heavy to hang from the beams of the venue?! We simply purchased an old Papasan chair from craigslist for $15.00, turned it upside down, and then added florals.. Hello hanging circular chandelier! Easy, inexpensive and cute, right?
In addition to the industrial woodland wine bar we designed, there were a plethora of other talented vendors that designed spaces at the event.
We loved the roving raw bar by Urban Palate.
We also took many trips to the pasta station to watch head chef Nace, of Contemporary Cateringmake fresh pasta right at the event!
See those darling girls sipping wine and enjoying the faux fire pit? That's what it's all about.. Gathering, chatting, and enjoying each others company.
