Culinary perfection in the magical, bohemian desert lands of the American Southwest—what better way to enjoy your dinner? Launched last year by entrepreneur Matthew Cooley and his fiancée Olivia Laux, desert dining company Cloth & Flame has been quickly gaining buzz with the in-the-know thanks to its breathtaking dinners hosted in America’s most remote landscape, the Sonoran Desert.

To pull off these unforgettable under-the-stars suppers, Cooley and Laux work alongside a dedicated event stylist who helps them create their picturesque tablescapes by incorporating thoughtful signature accents such as freshly-picked florals from the local terrain, as well as a dash of Instagram magic courtesy of twinkle lights draped from a steel trellis.

As for the menu, the desert dining company has tapped industry pioneers such as Executive Chef Stephen Jones of the Larder + The Delta and Executive Chef Robbie Tutlewski of Pane Bianco, with previous menus including delicacies such as locally-sourced curly kale salad with pickled beets and cardamom candied pecans, Arizona ancient barley and couscous tabbouleh, and chocolate pot de crème with smoked sea salt. And bourbon citrus honey cake, of course!

Even more wonderful? You’ll be dining with a purpose as 10% of all proceeds from the dinner benefit the Sonoran Institute, an organization that aims to connect people and communities with the natural resources that nourish and sustain them.
Despite its popularity since its launch, Cloth & Flame has continued to up its game, adding new and unique desert dining offerings to its roster including new locations throughout Southern California and other Arizona desert locales as well as private event offerings for weddings, corporate events and private dinner parties.

The duo has several exciting business additions on the horizon, including adding sunrise and sunset balloon tours to their repertoire. An experience that will allow guests to enjoy a pre-flight snack, post-flight sparkling craft cocktail and brunch, or a candle-lit dinner before embarking on an hour-long hot air balloon ride. Swoon.

What’s more, Cloth & Flame has just announced over Instagram the opening of their luxury camping resort in the Superstition mountains, Tela Peralta. The resort features fourteen luxury canvas cabins, an on-property restaurant, and unique outdoor event venues all set on 200 stunning acres of untouched Arizona wilderness. We’ll be the first to check it out, so stay tuned!
