Set tucked into the bucolic Bonnelles countryside, past the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse National Park and before you reach Château de Rambouillet, sits a sprawling idyllic property of historic barns and grown-in gardens. Though it’s just an hour’s drive from Paris, Le Barn feels ages away from city life. The lodge-like resort opened in summer of 2018, complete with beautifully designed rooms, a spa that tows the line between luxury and no-frills, and a farm centric greenhouse restaurant.

Countryside Enchantment with a Hint of Parisian Style
Two reinterpreted old barns have been turned into design-savvy lodges that feel equal parts Americana cabin and chic Parisian collector’s studio. Though the hotel may be new, the rooms and suites have that time-worn feel of a place you’d escape to time and time again, whenever you need to refuel. Some of the suites have sitting rooms and fireplaces while others offer bunk-style options for families traveling with kids, or close-knit groups of friends.
An Inspired Farm Centric Kitchen
The restaurant on the property, La Serre, is housed inside a glass structure filled with plants, lending the space a greenhouse feel. The menu is constantly in flux, reinvented with every fresh seasonal bounty and using ingredients from the gardens as well as from local markets and providores. A wood-fired oven churns out pizzas and there’s a solid list of large seasonal salads and rich, slow cooked meats.
A Foundational Reset, from the Inside Out
A former mill has been transformed into a beautiful spa overlooking grown-in gardens and a pond. Nordic outdoor baths fuelled by firewood sit outdoors facing the woods, and there’s a sauna and Hammam. Guests can schedule a session with an osteopath or book into an ayurvedic massage. For those who prefer moving and stretching as therapy, yoga and Pilates classes are available, and there are plenty of horses for riding. If getting lost in nature resets your foundation, various fitness trails accommodate walkers, runners and cyclists through the Rambouillet Forest and the Chevreuse Valley.
