Located in San Deigo, California is the hip and happening neighborhood of North Park filled with culture, art, entertainment and some of the best restaurants in the city. Amongst the many ahead-of-the-trend saloons and local fooderys is hidden gem, Jaynes Gastro Pub, a casual yet chic bar & eatery serving modern British pub fare & drinks. Jayne's is naturally just one of those spots that you dream of having a gathering at. With a twinkle light patio and urban vibe anything is possible. Well, for Krista and Daniel their dream came true.
They had been going on dates to Jaynes Gastro Pub for years before deciding to ask permission to use the space for their wedding. Krista and Daniel’s wedding was the first ever at the Pub. The brick flooring, market lights, and tall hedges made this back patio an ideal space for their intimate 75 guest wedding. Not only was there sentimental value in the space but it fit Krista's effortlessly romantic southwestern vision like a glove. We teamed up with wedding photographer, Brogen Jessup to give us the inside scoop on the day, details and newest venue to the San Diego area.

Tell us a little bit about this wedding.
A small intimate affair. Bride and groom each had one attendant. For groom, a friend of fifteen years, for bride, her Man of Honor, twenty-three years. Officiant was one of their closest friends, who was among the small group of friends when the groom surprised them with a proposal to the bride.
Why did you/the couple choose this location and venue?
Jaynes Gastropub is their favorite restaurant and the groom loved the idea that for years after they will continue to go there and it would always be the magical place they were married.
What made each venue/backdrop ideal for what the couple wanted to capture on film on such a special weekend?
We wanted a venue that felt special and intimate, like someone's home where our closest friends and family could gather. We also wanted the ceremony and reception to be in the same space if possible and the food and staff at Jaynes Gastropub is exquisite.
Are there any standout features of the property that are can't miss photo ops?
The patio, it is pure magic.
Is there anything special you incorporated from the surrounding area into the day?
The food at Jaynes Gastropub is always, fresh and absolutely delicious. The owner, Jayne created a menu for our reception that was based on our personal menu favorites. The mini Jayne Burger, Fish & Chips and Chicken Gnocchi. We loved the mini cones of French Fires and Crab Cakes that were passed around during cocktail hour.
Is there anything special you incorporated from the surrounding area into the day?
We had cocktail napkins created that were duplicates of the Brides parents wedding cocktail napkins from the late 60's.
Any fun stories or moments that stand out from the day?
The music. The bride walked down to "How Is Your Love" by The Bee Gees and the reception included everything from The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson and The Ventures.
