Cedar Lakes Estate sets a scene that's a lot like summer camp for stylish grown-ups. On the meandering upstate New York retreat property are a couple of lakes with a blob, kayaks and paddleboards for guests. There's a chef's garden that inspires wholesome, delicious food. There are plenty of cozy, modern cabins with the best of furnishings and amenities. There are firepits, patios and endless opportunities to just hang out among the cedar trees. And most fitting for events, there's a big, rustic barn that makes an awesome wedding venue. Today, we're sharing a wedding at the property that utilized all of its best features and brought guests together for a long weekend of revelry and relaxation with a romantic, natural feel.
We recently got the full story behind this gorgeous wedding and how the property was used to schedule an entire weekend of activities. Amanda of Amanda Savory Events of The Wedding Artist Collective is sharing the details below, including some high-fashion inspiration that was incorporated into the overall design.

Tell us a little about this couple and this wedding.
Hilary + Rob are the nicest couple in the world. Them, their family and their guests are all the things: loving, genuine, kind and thoughtful. Planning their wedding with them was so much fun. Their group is a very fit and athletic, and they took advantage of all that Cedar Lakes Estate offers onsite – pickup games on the basketball courts, relaxing by the pool, reading in the hammocks, and blobbing – every part of the property was enjoyed.
How was working at Cedar Lakes Estate? Any favorite aspects of the venue?
Cedar Lakes Estate is a dream venue. It is a very special and inviting 500 acre property that allows couples to create a personalized experience for their guests. One of my favorite aspects of the venue is their comfortable and chic onsite accommodations. It allows couples to host their guests for a whole weekend which elevates the experience, making it even more special.
Can you share about the design inspiration?
The design for the wedding was modern and clean with a hint of romance. Their inspiration for the wedding design came from aspirational designers, places and spaces that Hilary loves. Tom Ford for Gucci 1995, 1996 + 2003, Dolce & Gabbana 2002, Rodin Museum in Paris, The Guggenheim, and La Mamounia in Marrakesh.
What did the food and drink menu look like?
The food and drink menu was well rounded and plentiful. You will never go hungry with the farm-to-table, customizable local menu at Cedar Lakes Estate. A southern BBQ welcomed guests for the rehearsal dinner, and the next evening wedding guests enjoyed a seasonal summer family style menu. In addition to the two main dinners your guests enjoy, auxiliary meals that include a Rise N' Shine breakfast, Picnic Lunch and Farewell Brunch are also provided. Everything tastes delicious and is beautifully presented. Everyone left with a very full and happy tummy!
Any tips for couples looking to book Cedar Lakes Estate?
Do it! The price tag might scare you a little bit but the value you receive is priceless. I would choose a weekend wedding in the Hudson Valley of New York a hundred times over especially with them.
