We LOVE a good venue challenge. When we heard that ABC's Bachelorettealum, darling Des Hartstock was tying the knot, we put our reporter hats on and set out to help her find the perfect venue for her upcoming bridal shower!
The Bridal Shower & Boozy Brunch
Desiree's quest for love was broadcast on international television as she traveled the world. While she found the man of her dreams, we definitely felt the pressure to make sure her dreams continued with her pre-wedding celebrations! Our goal? To find a venue in the Hollywood area, something fresh, something new and something girly. The Lombardi House checked, every. single. box.
"Being engaged is one of the most exciting times of a girl’s life and I have to say that it has been more than amazing thus far. To top it all off are the bridal events prior to the wedding, including bridal showers and bachelorette parties that bring everyone together to celebrate friendship, love, and the beginning of a new life as a Mrs." - Des Hartstock
That's what a venue is all about right? Bringing your gaggle of gals together to create memories forever? Desiree will be able to visit Lombardi House for years to come to reminisce with her besties. The best part is that the venue has onsite accommodations, so they can have nostalgic slumber parties to recapture the memories of this fun event!
A Great Venue
Adios big city, our inner farmers are coming out! While The Lombardi House is in the heart of Hollywood, it is very much removed from the hustling, bustling, chaos of Sunset Blvd. The venue even has an original stable and refurbished barn with 35-foot vaulted ceilings on the property. Yeehaw! The estate grounds can accommodate up to 250 guests, which makes Lombardi House an ideal event space for both intimate and large gatherings. It made the perfect intimate setting for the guest count at Desiree's shower, but can also be utilized for large scale events. We love options.
The Venue Scoop
Built in 1904, Lombardi House is a fully restored Victorian-style farmhouse. The entire property is fully gated, enclosed for privacy from the street and offers secure, onsite parking. Surrounded by mature fruit trees and gardens, we thought the privacy factor was a great added bonus for Desiree's bridal shower, but also for anyone throwing an event. Hosting a private event means you want it private right?! While it is 'low pro' it is also near the action. The 7,000 square foot historic home venue sits within walking distance to the charming restaurants of Franklin Village, as well as Hollywood studios, theaters, shopping and dining. So there is a loooot for your guests to do before and after the event!
This California cool soiree, was chock full of pale pinks, confetti and carbs. Desiree's party posse was all dolled up and ready to celebrate her upcoming box office wedding. Her bestie bridesmaids, family and friends were treated to delightful food, a floral crown station and a perfume station! These were all set around the perimeter of the barn. Toss aside those silly games and give your gals crafting stations with gifts to take home!
Style for your Venue Setting
The boozy brunch bridal shower was filled with summer jams and punchy colored florals. Jesi Haack was the talented designer who brought this style-centric girlfest together. The venue is the perfect blank canvas with it's white walls and manicured emerald green lawn, so poppy punches of color were a great way to make a festive splash.
Tips on Hosting Events at Lombardi House
There are so many ways to set up an event here. We love how Jesi focused the bulk of the design inside of the stunning barn. The guests mainly gathered underneath the white vaulted ceilings for dining, drinking and crafting. Jesi wanted to make sure that the garden spaces of the venue were also utilized so she placed lounge vignettes just outside the barn doors for gathering and casual, comfy conversations on the sofas. This was a great use of space for this event.
"I can’t begin to describe how wonderful it was to have all of my closest friends in one place sharing fun stories that ranged from high school to now all while over a delicious brunch. From a flower crown making station to a ‘make your own scent’ perfume bar, my shower was one for the books and a memory that will last a lifetime." - Des Hartstock
These girls definitely sipped, savored and socialized their way throughout the Lombardi House. Lots of laughter, gift opening and fun happened within these venue walls! We think that this new Hot Hollywood venue is definitely one for the books.
We look forward to Desiree's walk down the aisle! What venue do you think she will choose for here wedding?!
