This week’s bucket list brunch brings us to the bustling corridor of Venice Beach in Los Angeles. Tucked in amongst the designer boutiques, galleries, coffee houses and juice shops along Abbot Kinney, Neighbor brings delicious eats to a space that’s cheerful, comfortable and an easy place to spend a morning noshing on brunch and laughing with friends.

A Sun-Soaked Scene
On a sunny weekend in Venice, the little outdoor oasis of seating at Neighbor will have you thanking the good-weather gods. Dining on the patio is kind of like hanging out at a friend’s cozy place, with trickles of sun beaming in between the slatted roof and hanging greenery. Rattan chairs and banquette seating mix with comfy lounge vignettes both indoors and out, making a warm setting for a brunch well spent with your nearest and dearest.

Cocktails and Comfort Foods
If you’re in the mood for something sweet to share as a table, the buttermilk pancakes with blueberries, walnuts and coffee butter is too good to keep to yourself. Or, if you’re more of a savory brunch fan, the aged cheddar polenta with poached eggs, jalapeño and charred scallion will fill you right up. And since you can’t possibly have a bucket list worthy brunch without diving into the cocktail list at Neighbor, check out the very-LA Venice Queen with mezcal, cynar and sweet vermouth.
