Upon spotting this greenery-filled emerald and melon-toned bar, we’re thinking #botanicalbrunching should totally be a bucket list item. Amsterdam is known to have a bit of eye candy at every turn, but even better if that eye candy comes in the form of a cool bar that’s designed with every teeny tiny detail in mind, right down to the powder pink coffee mugs.
Located in Amsterdam East, there’s no shortage of cool restaurants and bars nearby, but Bar Botanique is a standout in all its brightly hued glory.

Design Deets
Originally built as a gym and later revamped as a casual café, this tropical oasis was recently brought into its current, jewel-like status by the brilliant designers at Studio Modijefsky. With sky-high ceilings, multiple levels, an indoor balcony, and sunshine pouring in through giant windows, Bar Botanique and its adjacent Café Tropique combine to make one absolutely stunning setting to host a brunch gathering with a crew of bold and bright gals. Better yet, why not beat all the wintery melon-choly and break out your most fabulously colored threads and send the girls a memo that there’s a tropical chic dress code to this brunch soiree. Adding to bucket list: themed attire for brunching.
You Can Have Your Fruit and Eat It Too
As if the setting isn’t enough to stun your crowd, the menu here also impresses. If it’s a bucket list brunch you’re after, go big with the burger or the croque madame. Or for something a little more chill, we’re all about the chia, granola and fruit bowl or the omelette with fresh herbs and Parmesan. As for drinks, pass the Paloma. We’re feeling inspired by the citrus toned décor, ya know?! If you’re all about keeping it classy and booze-free, there’s an extensive tea menu and lots of sweet treats to pair.
Amazing Amsterdam
A bucket list-able trip to Amsterdam comes with hopes of cruising on bike along the canals, touring around the Rijksmuseum, and ogling the city’s stunning architecture. If you’re looking for a place to lay your heads while in town, check out the trendy Hoxton Hotel in the former Mayor’s home. You might also want to look into workshops at Student Hotel Amsterdam City to see if there are any bucket list worthy learning experiences during your time in the Netherlands.
If you’re looking for design or style inspiration, Amsterdam may just be your jam. This wild city gets a funny reputation for its anything-goes attitude, but it’s the architecture, the coziness, and the savvy street style that make this quaint city feel so authentic and unlike any other place in the world.
Calling All The Hens
It’s no secret that ladies love a good get-together in a setting that’s inspiring, imaginative and easy on the eyes. Surrounded by plush velvety banquettes, cool marble tabletops, tons of tropical flora, and all the ladies you hold oh-so-dear, is exactly how you should plan on spending at least one brunch-able morning this year. Because sometimes you just gotta treat yourself, and get in a good start to your day with a few of the ladies you love.
