A short while ago, photographer Abigail Bobo shot newlyweds Eric and Jessica at the stunning Tennessee Homestead Manor, effortlessly capturing their wedding day. Although her photos speak for themselves, she and the happy couple were kind enough to share their personal thoughts and experiences with us, which made for one unforgettable tale.
There’s no beating around the bush here, Homestead Manor is THE modern, barnyard, rustic, host-the-most-epic-garden-party place to be. This 50 acre plot of top-notch farmland boasts some insane marry-making perks such as a dare I say dope bridal suite, pond, indoor-outdoor dining and 4,000 square feet of dancing room. We’re not lying when we say that everyone was literally on their feet, breaking it down (real low) the entire night.

Just as we did, and rightfully so, you may be asking yourself who the masterminds are behind the epic Homestead Manor parties. Hello Abby, Amy, Ryan and Holly, the brilliant and very welcoming, Homestead Manor events team. Not only does this trio know how to throw a this-may-just-go-viral type of event, but also, they each have a personal love for food and hospitality! Where can we sign up? In addition to an all-star roster of event planners, this grand estate offers personalized, unbeatable meal options prepared by sought after chefs, Corey King and Kristin Horvath. Oh, and did we mention there is an organic farm on the property that supplies fresh farm-to-table produce based on seasonal savories… mmm mmm gooood.
Just as gossip worthy as the grounds and amenities that define Homestead Manor, so is the love story of Eric and Jessica. It all started with a small chance of fate and a pinch of musical commonality. The two Berkeley trained instrumentalists met their first year in their university’s admissions office. After four years and living overseas, they made their way back to the good ‘ol U.S. of A. and settled in Music City.
Once established in Nashville, they received unexpected news. Jessica’s father was diagnosed with ALS and Frontotemporal Dementia. With the help of Modern Design Event Planning and The Homestead Manor trio, they kicked wedding planning into high gear, pulling together one heckuva wedding in less than two months. Yes, two months!
Tell us a little about the venue.
Homestead Manor is a truly hospitable and gracious venue. The staff work so hard to go the extra mile again and again. I've seen them carry wedding dress trains, bring extra mimosas at a moments notice and even cry with brides.
Was there anywhere specific at the venue that was especially great for photos?
The elegant home is beautifully decorated and that is only the start. There are so many locations to host an event; you are sure to make it your own! All the portrait locations are within a short walk and you'll get a great variety of photos in no time at all.
