Paris is the summertime: open-air bistro dining, Champ de Mars lounging, and now, rooftop champagne sipping. Specifically, sipping on limited edition Krug Champagne on the terrace of the Shangri-la Paris at La Terrasse Krug. Open as of June 8th, the exclusive pop-up champagne bar will be open for discerning customers through the last day of September. This is the third consecutive year House of Krug has hosted their summertime pop-up at the Shangri-la Paris – each year brings a new secret ingredient used in their champagnes and along with it, a new theme for the experience. 2017's secret ingredient was mushrooms, 2018's was fish (yes... fish), and 2019's is, wait for it, chili pepper. While it's no fish, the chili pepper influences the direction of the terrace's design and menu, "created with a Latino atmosphere where elegance and taste go hand in hand with a fiery undertone of Latin rhythm." Beyond the special edition chili-infused champagne, guests can taste other varieties such as Krug's Grand Cuvée or Rosé alongside savory canapés such as Marinated calamari, Harissa Chermou-la accompanied by homemade semolina bread, or Prawn crackers.

Boasting what may be the best views of Paris (what Eiffel Tower?), La Terrasse Krug will be open to hotel guests and the public on weekdays from 6pm-11pm and weekends from 3pm-11pm.
