Memories are sensory. When you close your eyes and think about your wedding day, you'll feel your significant other's hand in yours, you'll remember how they looked at you, and how beautiful you looked to them. You'll remember the cold crisp taste of champagne on your tongue during a toast, the scent in the air as you said your I-do's. Can you imagine if your wedding took place in a secret garden surrounded by fields of rosemary? Every time you caught a whiff of that particular herb, you'd close your eyes and instantly be transported back to how your significant other's hand felt in yours, the taste of champagne on your tongue... and the scent in the air.
We were thrilled to sit down with Jordan from Landon Jacob Photography to talk about this very special secret garden wedding venue in Columbia with European touches, seemingly surrounded by fragrant rosemary.
For beautiful couple Meredith & Andrew, who met as lifeguards in high school, nature and the city of Charleston played a big role in their engagement and wedding planning. Andrew proposed to Meredith as they drove up the coast to capture the sunrise on film. He preseted her with a beautiful handwritten letter, journal and finally, a ring as the sun rose over their beloved city. They wanted their wedding to feel like a beautiful outdoor dinner party and after enlisting the help of wedding planner & stylist Jessica Rourke and florist Fern Studio they were able to bring this vision to life with long feasting tables, delicate vintage and gold-rimmed glassware, accented with lively pops of perfect floral color. All surrounded of course, by this lovely and fragrant garden.

Tell us about the venue and why the couple choose to get married here.
The Venue is a one of a kind Historic Building with a few secret European touches that are hard to come by in the city of Columbia. I love the arches, and the overflowing patches of Rosemary on the property. The property is very affordable, and fit nicely into the couples' budget.
Tell us about the venue in general?
The Robert Mills House is right downtown, which is so convenient! There are several options for a ceremony location as well as a couple of options for a reception location.
