You know that us reporters are always in search of fabulous venues for all types of occasions, including locations ideal for retreats and group getaways. We especially love a good girls weekend. A venue that you and your gals can gather at for a couple of nights filled with dinner parties, late night laughter, storytelling and just pure relaxation.
When clever creatives and purveyors of polish, mStarr Event Design,True Events, and Leila Brewster Photography, rang our reporter desks to tip us off about a recently renovated 125 year old mansion venue at the foot of the beautiful Berkshire Mountains, we perked up and promptly put pen to paper.
Girls Getaway, Retreat & Dinner Party
This newly remodeled gem was the perfect location for this retreat that the girls hosted. It was a creative collective for their wedding industry pals called #INNSPIREDESCAPE, get it?! What a cute play on words right? We call it, hastag-chic-sleepover-call-us-next-time-please. They filled us in on the finer points of this fabulous find. P.S. Kemble Inn is also an awesome spot for weddings and events of all sorts.
Ideal for Retreats, Workshops & Getaways
The ladies wanted to bring a mix of creatives together for a much needed getaway prior to the start of wedding season, AKA, when their weekends basically disappear! The #innspiredescape was the perfect getaway to the Berkshires replete with makeovers, a mixology lesson, playing with flowers, watching "bridesmaids" in PJ's and noshing on more yummy food than imagineable. The plan? Host these multiple times a year from here on out!
About the Inn
When the girls first visited Kemble Inn as part of a local wedding venue tour, they hit it off with the owner, Scott and were invited back to to talk all things weddings, events, and how to bring awareness to the newly remodeled Kemble Inn. Scott was a recent owner of the Inn and was responsible for making the incredibly amazing renovations and is filled with ideas to continue making Kemble Inn a fantastic venue and getaway destination. Awesome owners like this, are wedding planners dreams, and this prompted the ladies to want to share the magic with their fellow industry pals!
"The Inn feels like a true retreat. You get the outdoor Berkshires feel when roaming the lawn or sipping a cocktail on the porch, but are treated to such a beautiful and luxurious indoor space that you never want to leave!" - mStarr Event Design
A Great Venue
What do the ladies think makes Kemble Inn a standout venue? It has the charm of the Berkshires but without a stuffy, traditional feel. Each room is decorated differently, so every trip back is like a new experience! The girls reported that they are truly in love with the aesthetic of the Inn. Particularly, the vibrant turquoise walls.the bar cart, the purple chairs in the foyer and pretty much everything in the sitting room.
Inside Tips
Room 204 is often referred to as the bridal/honeymoon suite. There are two fireplaces! One in the main room and one in the bathroom. Breakfast at Table Six alone is worth staying at the Inn for. They have lots of things in the works with more renovations and events to come! Additionally, any venue that will allow for floral fun and bouquet making, gets a major A++.
The Location
The surrounding area of the Inn is an ideal destination for a group getaway or event. It's an easy commute from both the Boston and New York/Conneticut areas. There is an abundance of delicious food, cute shops, hiking, history in the neighborhood. Edith Warton's home, The Mount is not to be missed!
Style for your Setting
The girls did so many fun things during their stay and retreat. We love that they hosted a floral workshop and mixology class. Great idea, right?! They also designed a lovely dinner party to end the evening. When designing the event they wanted to highlight the beauty of Kemble's own design, accenting it rather than competing with it. The venue is infused with a mix of colors, textures and design schemes that feel cohesive rather than jumbled. Chic modern meets deco, Ralp Lauren meets Kelly Wearstler.
"April is kind of a dreary month in Massachusetts, so we brightened things up with lush florals and some whimsical embroidery details" - mStarr Event Design & True Events
Tips on Hosting Events at Kemble Inn
It's an intimate venue so it is ideal for smaller events. For larger events of up to 200 guests, you would definitely need to utilize the outdoor space. The town of Lenox imposes restrictions on how many outdoor/tented weddings can be hosted per year, so book early!
Around Town
The girls hired a makeup artist from the spa at Cranwell Resort who made them glow and look their finest for dinner! They also brought in a massage therapist from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health who put the ladies into major relaxation mode.
Highlights of Kemble Inn
The food, heated bathroom floors, complimentary face wipes, fireplace in bathroom and the attentive friendly service. Additionally, the food from Kemble's in-house restaurant, Table 6 is spectacular! The Head Chef Ron was the White House Executive Chef during the Clinton Days. Enough said.
A 125-year-old Gilded Age mansion with the sophistication of modern technology, contemporary furnishings, and thoughtful interior design. Guests have raved, “Not your grandmother’s Bed and Breakfast!” and “Ralph Lauren style in Lenox!”.
Types of Events the Venue is Ideal For
Rehearsal dinners, weddings, brunches, group getaways, showers, diner parties, retreats, workshops, etc. The ladies also reported that the Inn would be fantastic for bachelorette parties, and holiday parties! Think the best Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner imagineable!
