Venue Setting

South Farms, in Morris, Connecticut, is an 150-acre homestead that features an iconic 20,000 square foot dairy barn surrounded by picturesque open pastures. Now a fourth generation farm of the Paletsky Family, this venue has become a historic centerpiece of northwest Connecticut. In addition to hosting events at The White Barn, South Farms operates a heritage breed grass-fed Galloway beef and Berkshire pork business and hosts the Morris Marketplace, one of the state's only farmers’ markets on a farm, attracting hundreds of guests to the farm each Sunday from 11am-2pm, and is home to Pioneer Hops of Connecticut.

Less than two hours north of New York City, the farm is located in the heart of bucolic Litchfield County at the intersections of Route 63 and Route 109. Less than a 5-minute drive from Winvian Resort, Arethusa Farm, White Flower Farm, White Memorial Conservation Center and the historic center of Litchfield, the farm’s location is at the epicenter of these globally recognized destinations.

Venue Features
The Scene:
A carefully converted dairy barn, the area of the barn available for event space rentals consists of over 5000 square feet of unique indoor space including the Parlor (former milking parlor), Hayloft, and Bull Room. The vibe of the interior space is clean rustic-industrial utilizing metal and wood. The dramatic exterior space overlooking 150 acres of pasture is comprised of two large outdoor connecting courtyards, and an adjacent 3-acre landscaped field with pond, gazebo, bridges, and trailways. Events can combine both indoor and outdoor space to create an unique and memorable country experience. An indoor ceremony shed and interior prep kitchen are in progress available for use in 2017.
Design:
The vibe of the interior space is clean rustic-industrial with emphasis paid to adaptive reuse of materials, most of which were found, repurposed, or harvested locally. The renovation won a Design award for Historic Preservation in 2015. The Parlor and Hayloft are fully lit, heated and air-conditioned with many special design details including custom built chandeliers, repurposed wood plank walls, corrugated tin ceilings, and more. The brand new restrooms include reclaimed wood vanity tops.
