Very good place to spend a week in a relaxing and comfortable way. Villa is great for a big company, with spacious rooms, designed to deliver the comfort and coziness to every minute you will spend inside. You have everything you may need. If you’d don’t - the stuff will solve our problem. And the famous The Rock restaurant is in 1 minute away.
Upendo is a lovely boutique hotel on Pingwe beach. The service and staff were exceptionally stellar and it was easy to book rides and excursions. The room was spacious and always kept clean. It was nice to have private beach access and very interesting to see the tide come in and out.
Keep in mind that this location is very far from other parts of Zanzibar. Travel to Stone Town, Kendwa/Nungwi, and Mnemba Island is over an hour.
The food had great options and the staff was attentive and friendly
Restaurant and common areas for pools and daybeds were beautiful.
The room itself was spacious but not well designed. For example, even though the room was huge it did not have seating so the extra space was unusable until we pulled in chairs from the common area. Special thanks to our butler, Theo, who made us feel comfortable and was very helpful. The restaurant also served very tasty food. The location was ideal, not too busy beach.
We believe that it should have been mentioned that the rooms were located in a shared villa with common kitchen and living spaces. Also, the main pool was open to people who did not stay at the villa and the sunbeds were all taken by external people. It was very busy. They were doing works behind the villa and there was a lot of noise during the day.
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, without doubts. Just in the beach, in front of the rock restaurant, with interior and exterior spaces incredibly well decorated. Our room in the villa was amazing, big, with alla the amenities needed, and I loved we have a pool just for 3/4 rooms and so many outdoor sofas and chairs. The facilities at the hotel were fantastic. The room was spacious, unique, and perfectly well maintained. The staff were exceptional; the food and drinks were fantastic. Being right on the beach was perfect.
