The Witchery is unique. You feel transported back in time, but with all mod cons. The check in staff were very welcoming & friendly. The restaurant staff were also very welcoming & professional. I felt confident in their ability. The food was delicious. This was our second stay, we stayed in The Turret Room which was amazing.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Stunning, unique property. The Turret room furnishings truly made you feel like you had been taken back in time to another century. Loved feeling part of the hustle & bustle of The Royal Mile and the view beyond to the Firth of Forth & Fife was an unexpected additional treat. Being able to park & leave our car at their sister hotel, Prestonfield, was a huge bonus. The concierge staff there were ve...
For over £900 for a one night stay I thought there would have been some nice complementary wine & good bottled water in the room on arrival rather than just bottles of tap water. The Garden Restaurant is beautiful & atmospheric, no doubt about that, but we found the menu very limited unless you’re a fish or game lover. The location and the buildings history.
I liked everything about it.

The guardsman room was spacious with a large hall and three rooms and a bath. Great views outside the windows. The temperature was perfect--many places we stayed we had a hard time regulating this. Heated bathroom floors and a...

Honestly nothing.Only down side was leaving.
Incredible hotel, stayed in the Old Rectory and it was like stepping back in time. Just the most beautiful stay I was heartbroken to leave.
Very expensive and the restaurant was not value for money
The beauty and harmony. The intricate attention to detail. It’s complete old world charm with new world amenities. Very, very lovely people working there…
I loved everything about it!
Very nice breakfast in the extremely gothic and cozy dining room. Highly recommended!
The suites is situated right on the Royal Mile. We didn't know that there would be so many tourists there, so we got a bit surprised about the location being in the epicenter of all the tourist attractions. We could have done our research of course, but if you're looking for calm surroundings, maybe look elsewhere.
Beautiful historic suite in a beautiful historic location, but with great modern amenities, and helpful attentive staff. We went there for our anniversary, and loved it, and would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in the Armory suite, and we loved the busts of the alchemists, the pictures of the kings of Scotland, and the steel plate armour helmets you can pick up. Not sure they are really histori...
