Pros (+) Fabulous location overlooking a historic courtyard and the Cathedral. Lovely safe vibe. Parking permits and map provided. The breakfast was exceptional, really good produce and cooked perfectly. We had breakfast in our room and this experience elevated our stay. Beautiful room and bathroom. Nice touch adding ear plugs, robes and slippers. Like a home from home. The entire team at the Old Vine were...
Cons (-) Only one thing, the comfort of the beds. The main bedframe was noisy and the mattress was probably too soft for the type of bedframe. The pillows were too soft for me, a mix of firmness on the bed would be a good idea. The futon bed was noisy.

Pros (+) Lots of stairs and uneven floors but what you get in return is priceless! Comfortable, historic rooms lovingly decorated, a great restaurant downstairs and steps from Winchester Cathedral. Greeted by the enthusiastic Bradley who was so helpful with the bags and sorting out parking for us.
Cons (-) Noise does come up from the bar downstairs, but it didn't go late and earplugs are available in the room.

Pros (+) The OId Vine is a great small and historic little inn with a very nice pub on the ground floor. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The location bordered on the large commons that held the cathedral. In summary, it was the perfect place to stay in Winchester.

Pros (+) Breakfast was excellent. Bed was comfortable and location was perfect.
Cons (-) The annex needs a little bit of attention with some tired decor especially in the bathroom and the kitchen. There is a distinct smell of damp on entering at the bottom of the stairs, and there are no usb charging points in the sockets.

Pros (+) Owners and staff are kind and helpful. Welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast is a treat. Location can't be beat; it is close to everything essential, including near Collage street & the cathedral, for fellow Janeits!
Cons (-) We stayed in the annexe. It is roomy and well planned, but if you're allergic you should be aware that at present there was mould in the bathroom.

Pros (+) Big comfortable room. Excellent breakfast in beautiful traditional restaurant. Right next to the cathedral. Parking the car was complicated (only few residents parking spots, pre-registration of plate necessary), but with great help from the staff.
