Cons (-) The insistence on taking such a large hold on credit card for a pre-paid room on a one night stay with returning guests. Many many other properties take a $1 hold or don’t bother at all

Pros (+) Everything is thoughtfully designed, immaculately clean, super comfy bed and pillows. The staff were so kind and helpful after I was involved in a minor traffic accident. Beautiful building, cafes close by. Short walk to city centre

Pros (+) It is within the most amazing historical building which has been converted to a hotel among other things . The attention to detail is of an incredibly high standard along with the beautifully colourful design and ff&e. I felt very spoilt in this luxurious hotel , the staff were lovely and relaxed but professional. What a treat it was !!

Pros (+) You could not find a better location in Christchurch. It would be very doable to spend the entire day at the Arts Centre, which surrounds the hotel. There was a lovely wine bar, two great cafes, galleries, museum, library, and a stellar independent movie theatre. The botanical garden is across the street, with the Avon winding thru it. The hotel itself has a large, high-ceilinged sitting room, wit...
Cons (-) The breakfast was a very light continental affair. It wasn't really very tempting, so we did not pay for it. The first room we were offered had windows which could not open, but we were able to switch.
