Guests say
The Lodge at St. Edward State Park is a historic hotel set in a beautiful location, appreciated by guests for its serene surroundings and cleanliness. While many guests enjoyed the expansive grounds and the friendly staff, there were significant concerns about the value for money and some amenities, with lack of public gathering areas, and limited dining options being frequent criticisms. Despite some negative feedback regarding specific aspects of service and the atmosphere, overall the lodge is seen as a great retreat for nature lovers looking for a peaceful getaway.

Pros (+) From the time we pulled into the valet to the time we checked out, we found the staff and the lodge to be exceptional.
Cons (-) Didn't completely DISLIKE it, but did not find the food served at Cedar + Elm to be of the caliber of a Michelin-star restaurant. The service was great, the food was okay.

Beddoe, Feb 2025
Pros (+) The room was clean, the view and scenery were nice, the staff were friendly. The rooms have a nespresso machine, robes to cozy up in, and a nice size tv. I appreciated there were 3 restaurants in the establishment, however, they also seemed to have similar menu items (only 2/3 open when we visited). I appreciated they had a map with the walking trails around the building even though we didn't util...
Cons (-) Their valet service and your ability to get your car period ends at 11pm until roughly 7am. If you like to be able to have that freedom, this is something to consider. I booked the hotel as a local getaway and as I was interested in the historical remodel--parts of their restaurants and library appeared to be done nicely, the hotel rooms being the same size and structure, but I feel much of the in...

Pros (+) Beautiful property , gorgeous surrounding, nice restraint, very friendly and pleasant staff, clean, extremely quiet..BUT!!! Bed is way too soft, almost like a hammock, got a back ache, was considering sleeping on a floor. With the firmer mattress overall score would be 10+++++++
Cons (-) Hammock mattress, way too soft, not good for anyone back

Pros (+) The most attentive, wonderful staff helped make our stay a five star stay. Although the rooms are a bit narrow, they are luxurious and beautifully appointed along with many windows offering beautiful views of the park. The bathroom was just as luxurious as any five star hotel I've visited. The hotel itself as well as the grounds are beautiful with plenty of hiking and dining options. The hotel has...

Pros (+) We loved the expansive grounds and the thoughtful design of the hotel. Easy hike down to the lake and very quiet and peaceful.
Cons (-) Shuttles to the local wineries are not available on weekdays. I didn’t know we had to call and set up reservations for the shuttle in advance. The room was a little small but it was okay since we only stayed for one night.

Pros (+) It was historic.
Cons (-) A lot! Terrible lack of public gathering space. Tiny bar area on main level. Terrible loud singer in the restaurant area at 3:45pm and the sound overflows into the bar. We could hear ourselves talk. Small children allowed in the bar on the main level were crying at the next table while we were trying to have a quiet cocktail. The downstairs bar was closed for a private function. The only other rel...

Pros (+) The location was good
Cons (-) It was not very warm nor inviting. No gathering spaces for quiet chats were available. The public bar was closed for a private party. This limited the opportunities to meet for our small group

This lodge, which is located in a beautiful WA State Park, is pretty amazing. All of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. Every area of the lodge (our Standard King Room, the two bars, public restrooms, restaurant, etc.) was super clean. It's a very well decorated and comfortable place to stay.
