Pros (+) The room was a good size. The bed was comfortable but on the second day after the bed was made up the bottom sheet was not covering the bottom of the mattress.
Cons (-) The staff at reception were not very helpful. I was charged twice for my room, once by booking.com and again by the hotel. When I tried to get it sorted at reception I was told it was my problem and to sort it out with booking.com . After a long wait at reception it was eventually sorted. Poor customer service. Due to this fact I would not stay here again.

Pros (+) The hotel is in a good location for visiting friends and family in that part of DC. Lots of amenities nearby (restaurants, fast food, drug store, supermarket etc).
Cons (-) I felt like the room was very run down and it smelled like stale urine. The hotel felt generally rundown and uncared for. I did not feel safe on the streets outside the hotel. I felt constantly pressured by aggressive hustlers outside the hotel on the street walking to get coffee or supermarket etc.

Enjoyed the hotel as we were coming home from NC with our dogs and got to visit my son who lives here in DC. Wasn’t overly happy with valet parking cost and amenities tax, but for the location and allowing pets, it all worked out!

The look of the hotel is great. The church to hotel conversion is unique and well executed, this is definitely a stylish place to stay. No Goodbyes has a nice selection from breakfast to cocktails. All this said, the service is poor. Twice I tried calling guest services and no one ever answered. The heating/AC unit was also not working in the room and the engineers could not help so we had to turn...
