Pros (+) Stunning location and five-star service. The staff were so welcoming and informative. Although our room was not ready on time, we were provided a room to wait in the meantime and free drinks. I can’t rate their restaurant highly enough, delicious food and impeccable service. Upon our check-out we were also provided complimentary transport to the train station.
Cons (-) The beds are a little hard for my liking, but I’ve learnt this is quite normal in Japan. Could possibly be improved with a mattress topper for guests unaccustomed to the mattresses here.

Serene location; steps away from the famous Arashiyama bamboo grove and Katsuragawa River. High praise for Issei Nishioka and many other staff members for their attention to detail and warm hospitality. Thank you.
