Concierge Will was fabulous and so helpful in sorting us out. Nothing was too much trouble and his English was excellent
Location within the city walls, walkable to most sites but nothing immediately beside the hotel. Subway is also a 10/15min walk away so using Taxi is recommended to get around. Breakfast buffet was enormous and good quality, as was the lunch buffet which I did not know about until I happened to pop back to the hotel during the day and saw it! Staff super friendly and helpful, with good English.
Hotel is very dated, I'd say it was built in the early 2000's and hasn't been renovated since then, as consequence the rooms and hotel itself are looking worn and dated. The bedroom itself smelt of cigarettes (not uncommon in hotels in China it should be said) and the wall were very thin, I could hear my neighbors snoring. A relaxing and comfortable environment, spacious rooms, good location, courteous staff. Leo at the concierge desk was particularly helpful in organizing trips and activities, and providing directions and suggestions for fun things to do.

Room was comfortable, despite no view. Concierge staff very helpful and friendly.
Check-in process was cumbersome, despite having checked in online with the promise of "key on arrival". Front desk staff seemed to know nothing of this process.
Beautiful & clean hotel
The main entrance is at the back, maybe this is good, more private.
Very helpful reception staff and concierge - all of whom speak very good English! They also upgraded us to a very nice and large junior suite which was great! Very good breakfast, excellent location with a short walk to local restaurants and the subway line 4, which goes directly to the Everbright City. The concierge made restaurant bookings for us, too! room was very clean and breakfast could not be better.
Staff were very helpful and kind. Our goals of travel were fulfilled 100% thanks to their help. The staff who speaks Japanese was particularly kind and helpful.
