The location is very close to nature and beach. We were able to spot different birds, including toucans and macaws. White-faced monkeys came in the afternoon to our pouch looking for food. It was a fun close encounter! A beautiful trail leading to the hidden beach, where we spotted two sloths!
The roads to the hotel is pretty narrow and it was challenging to drive in and out.
Shana is a stunning hotel that offers breathtaking views, exceptional customer service, and the added delight of regular evening visits from playful monkeys—making each stay truly unforgettable.
While the overall experience was wonderful, a few aspects could be improved. The alcoholic beverages were not well-balanced, lacking the finesse expected from a hotel of this caliber. Additionally, the lighting in the stairwells could be enhanced, as they were turned off at 9:00 p.m., making it inconvenient and potentially unsafe for guests moving around the property in the evening.
The property is Beautiful! I feel like I didn’t even need to go to the national park, every animal was there! Every time I went outside I saw something!! We absolutely loved our stay at Shana By The Beach. In our opinion, the photos online don’t fully capture how beautiful the place truly is — the vibe is relaxed and cool, the views are stunning, the music sets the perfect mood, and the sunshine made everything even better. We would definitely recommend Shana to anyone looking for a stylish, laid-back escape with breathtaking surroundings
we did feel that the customer service during check-in could have been a bit more welcoming. When we first visited the property to check it out before making our booking, the reception we received was not as warm as we had hoped. Fortunately, the experience after that more than made up for it, and we had a wonderful time overall.
The pool and the amount of sun beds
We had difficulty ordering gluten free food even though we had advised the hotel in advance of our needs. This led to unnecessary stress. Many of the dishes we paid for from the menu were also bland, for example, the vege pasta.
Great location. Easy to get to beaches and Manuel Antonio. We had a rental car and I would recommend that as short walks can be hilly, hot, and dangerous (narrow roads and some aggressive driving). It was very nice, good food, love the adult only pool with view. Beach was a steep walk but we got to see monkeys there & very naughty monkeys at breakfast. Breakfast was tasty. Beautiful! Loved jungle walk to the beach. We loved the pools & our suite. We had a small private pool with our room just for us! Nice bars & restaurant. Golf cart service and luggage storage. The staff is very nice.
It is on a steep slope. That may bother elderly or handicapped.
