Pros (+) Beautiful location right at the Marina. Bike lane along the beach. Close to bars and restaurants at Hermosa Beach. Nice pool with whirlpool.

I have slept in a lot of hotels and the sleep I had at Shade is the best I’ve had so far. I also highly recommend eating at the Sea Level restaurant. They also took care of the room service and I have zero complaints.

Pros (+) The scale of the hotel is perfect for relaxation, and we enjoyed the spacious room and harbor view. Yoga on the rooftop was by far the best hotel yoga class I have experienced.
Cons (-) We ate several meals at the restaurant, and the weekday meals were delicious. The brunch meals on the weekend were disappointing and served cold. One morning we heard a yelling match between a sex worker and a hotel client in the hallway right outside our room, and when I notified the front desk, they said they were waiting for the police. Pros (+) Beautiful hotel! Stunning , spacious & comfortable rooms . Rooftop pool & sun beds were amazing overlooking the marina. Lovely staff. Tea & coffee served in the morning. Only downside to this hotel is the high parking charge- we avoided this parking on a street 10 min walk away.
