wonderful staff, everyone was so lovely and accommodating. beautiful food. we pretty much had the place to ourselves! great to be able to go snorkelling first thing in the morning with the reef right in front of us in the bay.
the overall experience was unfortunately very disappointing - there was such a lack of transparency with prices that we got hit with a massive bill on the day we were leaving which really impacted how we felt leaving the resort. all prices are in USD (which we discovered after the booking), there is a 150USD each way transfer cost to the resort (also discovered after making the booking), and meal ...Read more
Stunning location, beautiful rooms and very friendly staff.
Such a beautiful spot with incredibly friendly staff. The diving on the Rainbow Reef was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay.
For all practical purposes this is a tiny island. You have to arrange a boat transfer (with them), and apart from the hotel and the dive shop there is nothing there. This makes Sau Bay a real Paradies of tranquility.
However there are some oddities about this place: they do everything in US$ instead of Fijian currency. Upon arrival they want you to surrender your credit card. Only after your stay they will inform you about costs, dinner, diving etc. Transparency 2/10.

I felt mislead by my booking - I thought I was staying on the island of Taveuni because that was what showed up on booking.com. Also all our the outrageously expensive add ones once at the property. I would have appreciated full disclosure up front rather than hiding behind the curtain.
