Pros (+) The staff were exceptional and the facilities so lovely. We really enjoyed the steam room and sauna each day and eating breakfast in the beautiful garden gazebo. Room size very big with lovely balcony. Colombo was so adorable. Loved it!

Pros (+) Beautiful gardens and lovely accommodation. The attention to detail was first class. All the staff were ultra friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were yummy. Pool area and sauna and steam room a bonus.

Pros (+) The gardens are a paradise of flowers and trees and birdsong. It feels like staying in a country house. There is a real feeling of the history of the place. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly.
Cons (-) It is above Funchal, maybe 35 minutes' walk uphill from the street with the best restaurants. You may want to take a taxi at the end of the day.

Pros (+) Lovely hotel in amazing large grounds , staff were fantastic in many ways . So helpful with suggestions etc. Room spacious and lovely terrace . Pool just right .
Cons (-) I think the food was great however if staying any time it’s good to try different restaurants , the staff will recommend and the shuttle takes you down town . It is quite a way from town centre , too far to walk .

Pros (+) Wow…what a beautiful property! It is more than just a place to stay, it is also a tour theough an amazing botanical garden! The grounds are superb, the tortoise, Colombo is sweet, the food is fabulous, the view of Funchal is amazing, the rooms are spacious and lovely, the staff is professional and helpful…it is a wonderful place to stay!!!
