Pros (+) The natural bush setting
Cons (-) Outside maintenance needed work The site transport system was inadequate. Short staffing meant calls for transport on site went unanswered. Not a good situation if there was an emergency.

Pros (+) A lovely view, close to Manly, lots of space in the rooms. It has a separate bedroom and lounge room and a little area in between for luggage and hanging space for clothes.
Cons (-) It’s a bit tired. We have stayed there a few times over the past 20 years and it feels like it hasn’t been upgraded at all in that time. The bed in P1 is a bit sagged in the middle and there is a slight mould problem in the outside (and separate) bathroom and toilet. All the rooms are clean but I would recommend the back of the bathroom door and the ceilings in the bathroom and toilet be cleaned.

Cons (-) Where do I start... I stayed 4 nights, never again! No help with bags, no carpark pick up or drop off, on arrival you to carry your bags to reception, then the bus. Same with departure. No ac, just a noisy old ceiling fan and no window. The private bathroom is private, but shared bathroom hut, you brush shoulders with your neighbour going to the toilet & shower. No microwave. No water, tap only, 1...

Pros (+) I booked it because of my interest in the place’s history and its stunning location. I booked a room with a separate bathroom because it was cheaper. It was under cover so there was no chance of getting wet but you do have the faff of needing to remember the key. The rooms were clean and functional. The bed was really comfy. The staff were exceptionally helpful. I loved the views from the room and...
Cons (-) If I’m being fussy, the pillows were too deep for me. The paint on the windowsill near the bath is very cracked and the bathroom is basic but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the stay. We arrived late and there was no food available. We were recommended to use Uber eats but it’s out of the way and it would have arrived too late. Again, it didn’t spoil the trip. It’s a beautiful place.

Pros (+) The location was great, with a lot of wildlife in the grounds and fascinating history of the qstation.
Cons (-) In my room the bathroom was external so you had to leave the room to get to the bathroom. It was ok generally but a pain if you had to go in the night. This is a minor point though and I was aware this would be the case.

Pros (+) Great spot in amongst Sydney’s history and nature. The walks and views are amazing.
Cons (-) A little stuffy in the room. Can’t leave door open at night because there isn’t a screen door and mozzies would be a problem. No AC. The ceiling fan helps. Minor issue though.
