The Polraen Country House is a lovely, grand old stone building, situated in the beautiful and peaceful, valley setting, a couple of miles inland from Looe. The hosts were fantastic guides and ambassadors, and are a credit to Looe, and Cornwall.
Nothing we didn't like.
Polraen country house hotel was in a lovely location not far from local amenities
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like
The owners were very attentive and caring and really made the stay feel comfortable and friendly Also the breakfast was exceptional, fresh and plentiful
Very friendly owners. Good breakfast and sleep. Lovely gardens.
Nearby bus and trains infrequent. Time table irrelevant.
Beautiful location..clean..comfortable room..friendly hosts...fantastic breakfasts
Having to go home..!
Location is great, a 4 minute short bus ride into town so you can leave the car behind if you wish. Breakfast is great, plenty of variety, nice accommodation with great friendly hosts who make you feel welcome, beautiful landscaped gardens.
Not much, all seemed fine, maybe for some not have evening meal service would be a problem but there is plenty or Restaurants in Looe to chose from and the owners are happy to bring back take away food and eat in the conservatory, also your own drinks if you prefer.
Breakfast was excellent with good choices very kno wledgeable owners helpful with holiday planning lovely gardens peaceful location
Cannot find any criticism
Breakfast was excellent, gill and martin could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable
There was nothing I didn’t like
Excellent hosts who were very friendly and helpful in giving advice based on their local knowledge.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our original booking due to travel issues, incurring cancellation costs, As a result we were unable to get the room we originally booked. The hosts advised that the replacement room was smaller and not as well situated as others and this reduced our enjoyment of our stay. I stress that this was not the hosts' fault and was down to circumstances.
The owners are lovely people who are there for you to offer their ideas of where to go and what to see out and about in the area. Very welcoming offering an excellent breakfast service and also a relaxing lounge area where you can enjoy a drink with other guests at the end of your day.
Nothing to dislike however the room we had was quite small and compact but still comfortable. Also you need to take the local bus, a taxi or drive into the town centre as the property is a little way out of town. However this made it very peaceful.
