Location was central I guess
Rooms clean but old - pool was very old and dated. Spa treatments sub-par, probably the worst I have ever had. Vast numbers of local hotel staff but all untrained in hospitality and to be honest for a country that relies on tourism not very friendly.
The staff was the best in the world. I left some things in the dressers on accident, and they organized them neatly when I returned a few days later to collect them from lost and found.

Everything. From the response time and service level of the staff, room quality, to the overall hotel facilities and ambience, to the food quality, to live jazz performance in lobby... everything was perfect. The breakfast buffet and food quality of the hotel was excellent.
All was good. It just gets a bit busy when there's a large event (or wedding) going on at hotel, which is expected.

Meals and drinks very expensive. $11 AUD ++ for a coke!

This was an impressive 5 star property one of the top 3 in the world that i have ever enjoyed. Along with Wakatobi Dive Resort in Indonesia and the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel in Egypt.
