It's a really beautiful hotel converted from a 17th century manor house. The gardens are wonderful and the restaurant was very good.
It's really only a stop over between Lisbon and the Douro Valley, which is fine, but not a lot of other things to see in the area.
Beautiful old historic building restored to full glory while maintaining history ,yet including all modern amenities
Spring mattrass on a rather small narrow bed Access signage along the roads could be improved

A very large hotel with spacious grounds and friendly staff
The food was not as good as on previous visits.
Staff were so helpful, food excellent and plenty of history in the building

Full of historical character but still met all modern requirements
All good
Squeaky timber floor. Bathroom dated and could be better lit
How is mantained.
The food in the resrtaurant was not the greatest
Great location, immersed in the countryside. Besides the hotel in a lovely historic building, there is also a fantastic museum about the family that owned the property.
There is nothing that I would change about the hotel. I believe it will be a surplus if the recovery of lakes and property trails keep being done.
